On the day Coordination (or The Final Chapter as we know it!) is perfect for those who wanted to, or could afford the time to, plan their wedding themselves but need a professional to step in and ensure everything happens perfectly on the wedding day itself.

This post will hopefully shed some light for many couples asking themselves ‘Do I need a Wedding Coordinator?’

Do I need a Wedding Coordinator?

So… you’ve planned the whole wedding yourself, you have a Venue Coordinator, you also have an MC, why on earth would you need a Wedding Coordinator? Well, the reasons are VAST!

I can’t begin to tell you all the things that could go wrong at a Wedding but with a Wedding Coordinator on hand any potential mishaps have been foreseen and managed in advance or if problems arise on the day itself a solution is quickly found - you will never know that your day was anything but complete perfection, and neither will your guests. It’s your Wedding Coordinator’s job to make sure!

In the lead up to your day a Wedding Coordinator will take over as the lead contact for your wedding, this means that they will work on your behalf to ensure all the suppliers you have booked are aligned and confirmed to deliver your ultimate wedding vision!

For Fenn Studio, with our Final Chapter package we start approximately 6 weeks out from your wedding date, with an extensive handover at your chosen Wedding Venue. We will get to know your wedding inside and out, reconfirming all the details with your many wonderful suppliers, correcting any possible mishaps, and refining your timeline for an easy flow to your day. We cover every detail to ensure a magical wedding day experience for you and your guests.

But I am uber organised I hear you cry?!
That may be the case but have the instructions you’ve given your Venue and the many many vendors which come together to create an unforgettable wedding day for you been covered in the minute detail required;
- Do your Florists know exactly where to set up on the day?

Does your Band have that extra extension chord they need?
- Is the Hire company delivering your furniture aware of the correct access route for their van, or size restrictions to your room?
- Is your Caterer up to date on last minute guest allergies or an unfortunate drop out?

These are just some of the many planning and logistics questions your Wedding Coordinator will tackle in advance with you and your suppliers. With years of experience, your Coordinator will know exactly the information that is required and by who to make sure your wedding goes without a hitch!

AND whilst we know that investment in a Wedding Coordinator could seem like a difficult decision, especially when your budget is already tight, take a moment to consider the alternative:

  • What you will need to personally manage in the lead up to your wedding and on the day if you don’t hire a professional, how present will you really be able to be with your new Husband or Wife as well as your guests?

  • If there’s a problem at your Wedding, you are the lead contact and your suppliers will need your attention. Remember your Venue (and therefore Venue Coordinator) is not responsible for the suppliers you have booked, only those associated with the Venue, such as an onsite caterer or bar staff.

  • Do you have lots of DIY styling elements to set up for your ceremony and reception. Do you have enough time to do this AND get ready for your big day without feeling rushed? Do you really want your friends or family rushing round beforehand too and do you trust their eye for styling?

  • With any last minute change of plans, especially for wet weather, you could be redirecting Vendors the day before, (or even on your wedding day! Yikes!) rather than getting pampered or having a lovely catch up with guests who have travelled for your wedding?

Plus, importantly on your Wedding Day itself, your Wedding Coordinator will work hard behind the scenes, as the only person with oversight of your whole day, to make sure everything runs like clockwork.
